Frequently Asked Questions

Are caretakers fully trained on how to handle all kinds of situations that can arise when taking care of a loved one?

All of our caregivers are fully trained, bonded, and insured. This means that our caregivers are certified and licensed by a recognized authority–and that they have passed thorough background checks as well!

Realm Of Glory’s caregivers is also trained in Emergency response procedures. which is also vital given the fact that many seniors live on their own with no one to turn to for help in an emergency.

How often does a caregiver come for visits?

It all depends on the loved one who is in need of care, We work around your schedule. It’s possible for the average caregiver to come on a regular basis (daily) or just a couple of times a week.

Caregivers often work a different shift each visit depending on the client’s needs – daytime, evenings, or weekends.

Live-in-care shifts can include overnight stays and sleepovers if desired. The total of visits varies – anywhere from 1 hour a day to 24 hours a day.

What are the basic tasks caregivers help with?

Caregivers take care of any task the primary caregiver cannot do for themselves, including:

  • Meal preparation.
  • Insurance and financial tasks.
  • Providing transportation to doctor’s appointments and other necessary errands.
  • Managing medications that might have been prescribed.
  • Doing laundry
  • Doing household tasks
  • Providing emotional and moral support
  • Creating schedules

Many people take for granted how blessed we are to have the ability to perform everyday tasks. At a certain age, those abilities start to dwindle, and you’ll need help.

What does “Aging in place” mean?

“Aging in place” is a term used to capture the gradual process of adjusting our everyday life for age-related losses, including the loss of mobility and sense of balance. It encompasses all activities that allow an individual to maintain as much choice as possible in a residential setting, lifestyle, and functional ability while striving for optimal health and safety.

Aging is inevitable, but it doesn’t mean that someone will stop doing just about anything after they turn 65! Aging in place allows older adults to continue living in their homes and communities for as long as possible by improving accessibility, safety, and decreasing isolation.

Studies have shown that elders who reach the retirement age at home are happier and more satisfied than those who chose assisted living or nursing facilities! Being happy at a higher level accelerates the quality of life while aging.

Is In-Home Care services a better option than nursing homes and assisted living?

Most seniors think In-home care services are a better option than nursing homes and assisted living because they would rather age at home rather than live in these institutions.

In-home care services allow elderly individuals to live independently, giving them more control over their own quality of life and complete freedom of choice.

They can do things like eating when they want and go out for dinner with friends or loved ones whenever they please. It’s also beneficial for friends and relatives who would like to visit often.

Will care services differ depending on my needs?

What is the difference between home care and home health care?

Depending on the circumstances, both home care and home health care can be necessary for your loved one. But there are some key differences in what they entail.

Home care focuses on meeting one or more individual needs that cannot be met solely by the family caregiver, like increased levels of assistance with self-care tasks (bathing, grooming, dressing). Home care is typically less expensive than home health.

Home Health Care is a service offered to assist those who require medical attention. As part of home health care, a person is usually helped to recover from a medical condition. Skilled professionals, Nurses, therapists, or home health aides usually work in the field of home health care.
